The Beach House is a one of a kind home situated on the little slice of paradise that is Little Cayman, in the most perfect spot on the stunning beach, looking out to the reef, it truly is spectacular. When these clients came to us with their vision for the land they had just bought it was one of those fantastic connections where everyone is on the same wave length and ideas evolve and grow out of what which makes a project that much more seamless. Edgewater took on everything from planning and design right through quantity surveying, procurement, and of course the build itself. From trips to Miami choosing interior finishes to custom pieces being delivered from around the world Edgewater had it covered.
The difficulty in working on a small remote paradise like Little Cayman is the lack of availability of anything building wise, with no hardware store, no wood mill, nothing that we could use on island, we shipped everything over and ensured this lack of availability did not hold up the building process. The build was finished within 14 months, no longer than any other build of its size – purely due to the fact that the Edgewater’s unique working strategy of ‘everything in house’ meant that there was no middle man for messages to get missed or wires to get crossed, the job simply just got done to the same impeccable Edgewater finish that you can see in all of our builds. Back in 2011 I had a crazy plan to build an incredible house on a spectacular beach on remote Little Cayman. Edgewater took what initially appeared to be an impossible dream and made it easy. The team took care of every detail seamlessly; from planning, design, quantity surveying, paperwork to the construction process itself. With detailed noted from site visits by the project management tram along with photo’s I managed to complete the project whilst living in Spain with relatively few site visits.
The house design required a very high level of finishing detail which would have been difficult enough in the US or UK, but Edgewater were more than up to the challenge. The result was more than we could have ever envisioned- a spectacular house with an incredible level of detailed finish and a quality level that far and away exceeded our very high expectations. I cannot recommend Edgewater highly enough. They are true professionals and an absolute delight to deal with.
