About Cayman Brac

The Cayman Islands is a British Overseas Territory in the Western Caribbean Sea. It consists of three islands that are home to about 65,000 people – Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman.

Located 150 miles south of Cuba, 165 miles northwest of Jamaica, and 460 miles south of Miami, Florida, the Cayman Islands are blessed with a moderate climate that averages 78°F in the winter and about 86°F in the summer, friendly people, and economic prosperity.

Cayman Brac, known as “The Brac”, is located about 89 miles northeast of Grand Cayman. It is 12 miles long, 1½ miles wide, and home to 2,000 or so residents. It is named for a 140-foot high limestone bluff (“Brac” means “craggy bluff” in Gaelic) that bisects the length of the island, gently rising from the west end as a verdant plateau to a dramatic cliff at the eastern end, where it plunges into the sea.
